Congratulations to Jack A (Year 11) and Kayla R (Year 12) on being nominated and recognised in the ‘Australian Olympic Change-Maker’ program. The program recognises students who are demonstrating aspects of the Olympic spirit, friendship, sportsmanship and striving for excellence – both on and off the playing field, through leadership and driving positive change in their school or local community.
Both Jack and Kayla have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their chosen sports and have excelled as young leaders not just within the school, but also, in the community within their sport teams.
Mount Waverley Primary Visit – Wednesday 14 September
On Wednesday 14 September , a small group of Year 11 leaders attended a session at Mount Waverley Primary School, to continue working on the joint community action project. It was great to see the Year 11 leaders helping guide the Year 6 leaders in small break out sessions. The aim of the visit was to begin organising how to raise funds for a sensory playground, the overall goal of the community action project.
It has been fantastic to see both the Year 6 and Year 11 leaders develop their confidence when working together in these sessions and it is a testament to the leadership program at Mount Waverley Primary School that so many students are prepared to design and implement a community action project.
A big thank you to Stanlely L , Tasfiya H and Ellen L for their work guiding and mentoring the Year 6 leaders.
