On behalf of the Senior School team I would like to congratulate our VCE students on a successful Term 1.  We are proud of the effort, resilience, and determination our students have shown toward their studies throughout the term. The key to successfully completing the VCE is the strength of a students support network.  I would like to thank our families for their ongoing support of our students and teaching staff; I encourage families to continue to communicate and work in partnership with your child’s classroom teacher to help maximise their learning opportunities.

Over the holiday break it is important for students to switch off and have some rest to ensure they return refreshed for Term 2.  Students should ensure that they make a study timetable over the holiday break that incorporates a balance of homework/study and also rest and relaxation.

The Senior School team wish everyone a safe and restful holiday break.

Mid-Year Entry to Northern Hemisphere Timetable Information Evening

Mount Waverley Secondary College will again offer Year 10 and 11 student’s access to our Northern Hemisphere Timetable. The advantage of this program is that it will allow students to finish one subject mid-year in Year 12 and they will then have more time to concentrate on the remaining four subjects in Year 12. In 2021 we are offering the following units:

  • Unit 1 and 2 Biology
  • Unit 1 and 2 English
  • Unit 1 and 2 General Maths
  • Unit 1 and 2 Accounting
  • Unit 3 and 4 Biology
  • Unit 3 and 4 English
  • Unit 3 and 4 Further Maths
  • Unit 3 and 4 Accounting

This year we will be hosting a virtual information evening to provide detailed information about this program. Students who are interested in participating should attend this information evening, parents/carers are also encouraged to attend this session.

DATE:    Tuesday 4 May
TIME:     7:00 pm

Registration is not required for this session. A link to the session will be posted on the compass news feed prior to the event. This is a live visual presentation; however participants will not require a camera. There will be an opportunity to ask questions via a survey upon commencement of the presentation.
