Year 12 Celebration Activities

The class of 2020 have always immersed themselves in everything our college has to offer. Although they unfortunately missed out on many activities this year, we wanted to ensure they could still celebrate the amazing achievement of completing 13 Years of schooling.

On Thursday 22 October we hosted a PJ Day as a little way to say well done on surviving such a hard year. We saw many colourful outfits, Odie was a favourite and the UGG boots were the slipper of choice!

On Wednesday 28 October we had our Celebration morning. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement but with an undertone of understanding that it was the last time that this cohort would be together as one group.  The celebration picnic kicked off with the Captains speeches where the leaders shared their memories of 2020.  Several awards were handed out to students acknowledging their outstanding achievements in Music and in Sport.  The highlight of the morning was when Mrs Wade and Mrs Cain presented each Year 12 student their Graduation Certificates to congratulate them on completing their school journey at MWSC.

As is tradition at all celebration events, students then had the opportunity to sign their school shirts with farewell messages.  It was a colourful and a happy event filled with balloons, laughter and fun that will create lasting memories for all of the Year 12’s of 2020.

Year 12 Virtual Graduation

Graduation 2020 was unlike any other year.  We had the pleasure of hosting our very first virtual graduation ceremony. Although we were unable to celebrate this occasion on site, we were still able to gather as a college community from the comfort of our own homes and watch the live streamed event.

Upon graduating we had the pleasure of presenting our graduates with a graduation pack consisting of a graduation certificate, graduation gift, professional individual graduation photo, and event program and ticket. Thank you to Mr Bill Thomas for photographing our graduates, our students looked amazing in their graduation gowns. A special thank you to our College Council for funding the graduation packs.

The Graduation Video included special messages from our College Captains, Valedictorian Ebony Glare, Mrs Karen Wade College Principal, Mrs Cain Campus Principal and the VCE team.
Our graduation ceremony took us on the journey the class of 2020 have had over the last 6 years in their time at the college, it was wonderful to reminisce over the amazing experiences our students have had and the life time memories they have made.
