It’s hard to believe we are already four weeks into the school year. It has been a great start to the year with the middle years students already having participated in a number of programs including Year 9 Inspire program and the Year 10 Camp.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Sarah Chase and I am the Head of Middle School. My role is to support the educational programs as well as the student management within Middle School which provide the opportunity for those students in year 9 and 10 to grow and experience success both educationally and socially.
Year 9
This last week saw the whole year 9 cohort complete their online assessments as part of the careers guidance Morrisby program. The online assessments are used to create their Morrisby profile which gives them insight into their personal aptitudes, learning and working styles to help them make informed decisions about their future career plans. Students will then use these profiles as part of the careers counselling interviews they will participate in March. Any students who missed out on the online assessment or did not complete them fully will be provided with an opportunity to do so ensuring they have a completed profile for the counselling sessions.
The students should be congratulated on the positive approach they took to the completing of these assessments and their excellent behaviour. The middle years team would also like to thank all the year 9 teachers who facilitated the day and the hard work and support of the careers team, Ms Joanne Hall and Ms Lyn Luongo.
Year 10
The year 10’s have also received information and forms regarding their upcoming work experience. If they require any further information or additional forms they can visit the Careers Office for further support and advice.
