Year 7 Welcome Picnic
We held our Year 7 Welcome Picnic on Tuesday 6 March at the Junior Campus. It was a fantastic evening with parents and carers having dinner and meeting other families from their child’s home group and rest of the year level. It was great to see groups of students participating in the trivia event and playing various sporting games over the course of the night. We would like to thank Ms Erica McGown and other members of the Parents at Mount group for organising a great night, and to all of the staff in attendance.
Year 7 Camp and Year 8 Challenge Program
Year 7 camp runs from Monday 26 March to Thursday 29 March where the whole year level attends Camp Coonawarra to participate in a range of outdoor activities. This camp also provides a great opportunity for Year 7 students to further develop and create new friendships. While the Year 7 students are on camp the Challenge Program provides Year 8 students with an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone. Both programs provide a great finish to the term for our Junior School students.
Open Day – Thursday 26 April
Planning and preparations are well underway for this important annual event. Our Faculty Heads are starting to plan displays for the night with their teams of teachers. The Junior Campus will be open from 4.00pm to 7.30pm allowing families to engage with teachers, students and get a feel for the college community. School tours of both campuses will be offered on the day for prospective parents. Please see the college website for further details.
Congratulations to Natalie Fleming, Alanna McLean, Mitchell Morrow and Olivia Rando from Year 8 for clearly demonstrating our School Values over the past week in particular, for having a positive attitude and for showing initiative and leadership.
We look forward to acknowledging other students over the course of the year as we aim to consistently demonstrate our community values.
Term 1 – Working Bee
The first working bee for the year will be held on Sunday 18 March form 9.00am until 12.30pm at our Junior Campus. Please come along and help improve the college grounds. There are a range of jobs including, planting new trees and shrubs, spreading mulch and general gardening and weeding. We encourage you to bring along shovels, rakes and brooms as well as gardening gloves and a hat. Morning Tea and a BBQ lunch will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
