Year 11 and 12 students are given homework over the holidays. The purpose of this homework is to prepare students for the course and topics they are about to study. Completing this work will save students time during the term and give them the information on which the course is based. It includes, but is not limited to: pre-reading of novels, and texts, questions related to reading to show understanding, exercises revising previous work, and practical or creative thinking tasks.
Students who do not complete the required holiday homework have a significant impact on the learning of the class and their own learning; therefore, by not completing the work, students will be deemed not ready for class. Students will be withdrawn from class and required to complete the work before beginning classes. They are free to return to class when they have completed the required work and are prepared for class. Any absences from class will not be approved absences.
