Term 3 – Reflections on learning

As we approach the end of Term 3 we are reminded of all our achievements to date and we have the time to reflect and re-energise for the remainder of the year. It has been another successful term of learning on the Junior Campus for our Year 7 and 8 students. Students have been engaging with their studies in the classroom across the eight learning areas. They also have had a wide range of activities outside the classroom that have added to their experience this term including House and District Athletics, Round Robin Sport, the college production Legally Blonde and our annual Language Day to name just a handful.

Parent Teacher Student interviews were a fantastic opportunity to visibly see the collaboration that exists between students, teachers and parents. These conferences allowed students and parents to talk to teachers about how they are progressing and what they can focus on to continue their learning growth next term.

I look forward to welcoming students back next term as move into our final term of learning re-energised and ready to take on the challenges that await both inside and outside the classroom. Can I wish all students and their families a safe and relaxing break.

Term 3 – Working Bee at Senior Campus

The third working bee for the year was held on Sunday 17 September at the Senior Campus. Work focussed on planting new natives near the carpark, reinvigorating the Japanese Garden, preparing a native food garden and general weeding and tidying up around the campus. Thank you to all of the parents and staff who helped on the day it has made a real difference.

Poet in Residence

The Poet in Residence at the Junior Campus was a great success with Ms Emilie Zoey Baker workshopping with all Year 7 students across last week. With students actively engaging with poetry and learning how to write poetry as part of this program, this again enriches the student experience in Year 7 English. Thanks to Ms Elizabeth Sutherland for organising this great program for our Year 7 classes. Thanks also to English teachers for their help with this program.

Final Year 8 Camp

Students arrived back on Friday after a busy week on our final Year 8 Camp for this year. The students were still smiling as they collected their bags with many looking forward to a restful weekend after such a busy week of activities. Thanks must go to Ms Gokce Delioglu and Mr Andrew Morton for looking after the students on camp. Thank you to Mrs Jan Pugsley and Ms Lauren Kelly for their organisation of the camp.
