We are now at the halfway mark of Term 3, which is always a very busy time at the Senior Campus.

Professional Learning Week

Last week the staff engaged in Professional Learning Week which was an excellent opportunity to develop our collective skills in a range of areas. Almost twenty staff and a dozen or so students were responsible for organising sessions related to student feedback, learning goals, high-impact teaching strategies, critical and creative thinking, and use of technology in the classroom, amongst many other things. I would like to recognise all facilitators (particularly the student volunteers) and participants for ensuring that this week ran smoothly.

2018 Subject Selections

Having now received student subject selections for next year, we will begin the process of creating the 2018 timetable. Last week students from Years 9 and 10 were supported through a range of subject selection counselling processes, overseen by the Senior and Middle Subschool teams. An extraordinary amount of work was done behind the scenes to make this happen and those teams, along with the countless staff volunteers, should be commended for giving up their time to support students through this process.

Year 10 Gala Dinner

On the social calendar we recently had the Year 10 students’ glamming it up for the annual Gala Dinner. The next date on our calendar will be the Year 11 Fancy Dress party. These events again rely on staff giving up their time and they are always well supported as we love seeing students able to celebrate wider school life together.
