Junior Campus Years 7-8
Our Junior School concept is unique amongst government schools in Melbourne. In providing a separate campus for our Year 7 and 8 students, we are recognising the age-specific needs of our students.
It is an exciting time at our Junior School, as our newly rebuilt Campus was officially opened by the Minister for Education in 2012. Our buildings won a major international prize for design (CEFPI Australaisia Region, New Construction, Major Facility). These innovative and creatively designed buildings form a part of our Masterplan across the whole College and will consolidate Mount Waverley Secondary College's position at the forefront of secondary education in Victoria.
We are a large College that is able to provide excellent resources for our students. The College supports its students through an extensive pastoral care structure which focuses upon the students' Home Group and its teacher. In addition, the College is divided into three sub schools, each with its own management team.
We have a very diverse student activity program, providing a focus for leadership and student involvement and many activities for students across the College. Additional support is also provided by student welfare coordinators, a nurse on each campus, youth worker and DEECD psychologists. Our students work in an environment that develops high levels of achievement and one that is encouraging and supportive of individual needs.
An Enrichment class will again be offered in 2013 for our very high achieving students.
