Lions Club Youth of the Year Competition
Michael, Stephanie, Jessalyn and Demitri from Year 11, represented the college at the Lions Youth of The Year dinner on Wednesday 28 February. They entered the public speaking competition and did an incredible job. The competition involved giving a 5 minute prepared speech as well as being asked to respond to two impromptu questions. Demitri, was the overall winner and will advance to the next round of the competition. Special thanks Ms Hayley Dureau, Ms Amanda Reed, Mr Simon Bartlett and Mr Bill Thomas for attending the event to support our students and their families.
Congratulations to Emily W of Year 12 for being selected to represent Australia in the Australian Gymnastics Team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Emily also recently won a Silver medal for Vault at the 2018 World Cup Gymnastics in Melbourne in late February. Well done Emily. What an amazing achievement!
Mount Waverley Secondary College alive with the Sound of Music!

Our Learning Community looks forward to attending and enjoying many performances provided by these students through the year. This fantastic music program is a tribute to the hard work and talent of our dedicated instrumental and music teachers.

Working Bee – Sunday 18 March
I am looking forward to seeing many parents, friends and students at our first Working Bee for 2018 on Sunday 18 March between 9.00am and 12 noon on the Junior Campus. This is an opportunity for parents to establish a strong sense of belonging to our learning community and to show their children how much they value the wonderful educational opportunities Mount Waverley Secondary College has to offer.
If you have some spare time on this day your contribution would be greatly appreciated. At the conclusion of the working bee a sausage sizzle will be provided to reward participants for their efforts.
